ISIS managed to attract a large number of young Europeans to join its ranks while it had control over some areas in Iraq and Syria, using a large propaganda mechanism to promote its bloody ideas and hardline attitudes among youth through the Internet and social networking sites.
This terrorist propaganda has already produced rapid results. European youths have sought to join the ranks of the terrorist organization in Iraq and Syria, in addition to carrying out terrorist operations in their countries of origin as lone wolves, and providing logistical and information support to the terrorist organization from their home countries.
In this regard, the Danish authorities have charged three people with providing a terrorist organization with aerial drones. Danish prosecutor Kristian Kirk confirmed that the three defendants were 30 years old and two of them had Danish citizenship.
The three individuals purchased the drones between 2013 and 2017, Kirk revealed, adding that they also bought spare parts, thermal cameras and auxiliary equipment, with the aim of later handing them over to the ISIS militants in Syria and Iraq.
A court in Copenhagen, the Danish capital, had previously condemned a 32-year-old Syrian citizen on April 11 on charges of planning a terrorist attack in the capital by stabbing citizens before detonating a bomb in a crowd of citizens; security forces succeeded in thwarting the operation and arrested the suspect before he could flee to Turkey through the Copenhagen Airport.
The Danish authorities also foiled a terrorist operation against Iranian opposition that was planned by Iran’s mullah regime by means of Iranians living in Copenhagen, including a Norwegian national of Iranian origin who was arrested on October 21, 2018, before Denmark recalled its ambassador to Iran.
