As Qatar and its arm, the Muslim Brotherhood’s international organization, are seeking to control Somalia, Doha’s man, Fahd Yasin, the acting director of Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency, has triggered an election crisis in the Galmudug state. That urged Ahlu-Suna to announce it would end its security role in the Galmudug state in a bid to counter the plots of Doha’s man.
Fahd Yasin and Ahlu-Suna Wa Jamaa (ASWJ) have been in a conflict to gain control of the Galmudug state. Yasin is trying to tamper with the state, which has witnessed a number of divisions and political crises.
In a speech on Independence and Unity Day in Dusmarib, the capital of the Galmudug state, Sheikh Mohamed Shaker the head of Galmudug state’s government and a leader of ASWJ, said the Galmudug state is seeking to form a unified state that would cooperate with the Somali federal government.
Shaker has voiced willingness to hand over the security responsibilities in Dusmarib to the Somali federal government.
Earlier, Ahmed Duale, President of Galmudug state, rejected the intervention of the Somali federal government in his state’s election, labeling a statement issued by Somali’s Interior Ministry in this regard as “illegal”.
“Galmudug is a free state to run its own affairs. It is not a new state under formation. It has a regime constitution, parliament and leadership,” Duale said, calling on the people Galmudug state to be vigilant, asserting that Galmudug will defend itself.
In June, Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire visited the Galmudug state to hold meetings with sheikhs and leaders, noting that his government would back the people of Galmudug in determining the future of their state.
