The Wall Street Journal revealed a new presentation by Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, mastermind of the September 11 attacks on world trade towers and the Pentagon.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has expressed willingness to testify in cases brought by Americans against Saudi Arabia, claiming they were involved in supporting groups that carried out the Sept. 11 attacks.
Allegations of the mastermind
Sheikh Mohammed filed his alleged bid on Friday, July 27, 2019, in a letter his lawyer addressed to the federal court in the Manhattan area, which is considering the Saudi case against more than 800 relatives of victims, as well as those affected by the September 11 attacks.
They have sued Saudi Arabia and accused the authorities of supporting al Qaeda’s terrorist network, which is responsible for the attacks, which claimed the lives of some 3,000 people.
According to the Reuters news agency, the mastermind of the September 11 attacks presented the testimony against Saudi Arabia in exchange for a deal with the US judiciary that guaranteed him not to be sentenced to death.
The lawyers representing individuals and entities who filed cases against Saudi Arabia: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four others are in US prisons. They orchestrated the events of September 2001, adding that Sheikh Mohammed may testify that is expected to condemn the Kingdom as described.
Store for secrets of the rule
Sheikh Khalid Mohammed is one of the most dangerous terrorists being held by the United States in Guantanamo Bay, the mastermind of the September 11 attacks, the former head of the al-Qaeda military commission and one of the three most prominent leaders of the organization in the period leading up to his arrest.
He was arrested by Pakistani forces in a joint operation with the United States, he and two terrorist leaders inside Pakistan, and handed over to the United States, which transferred him to a number of prisons under the Extradition Program – a secret program where detainees are interrogated outside the US border – located in the Gulf of Cuba.
Monument to the Kingdom
The institutions and individuals that filed a lawsuit against Saudi Arabia are trying to implicate the kingdom in the September 11 attacks to obtain financial compensation from Saudi Arabia, despite previous assurances from officials in the US administration that deny the allegations.
The White House spokesman, Josh Ernest, said the information published by the United States in the 28-page report does not indicate official links between Saudi Arabia and al-Qaeda terrorists.
Report of 28 papers
Prosecutors trying to capitalize on the testimony of Sheikh Mohammed in their case against Saudi Arabia are based on a confidential report released by the United States during President Obama’s time and known as the 28-page report.
The 28-page report is part of a long official report prepared by the US Congress on the September 11 attacks.
The Obama administration published the report in 2015, after 13 years of secrecy, but confirmed that there was no connection between hijackers used in the attack and officials in Saudi Arabia.
The 28-page report relied on information from the FBI, which said it had found on Abu-Ubaidah’s phone, one of al-Qaeda’s most prominent leaders currently held in Guantanamo, figures for a company in Aspen, Colorado, the same company that was responsible for setting up the former Saudi ambassador to the United States Bandar Bin Sultan.
The FBI also found a number of guards at the Saudi embassy in Abu Zubaydah’s office, while the US administration blocked several words about this part of the 28-page report.
