The Muslim Brotherhood organization, backed by Turkey and Qatar, has sought to bring about chaos in Sudan after the fall of the Islamist political movement in April thanks to a popular uprising supported by the Sudanese army.
Sudan’s army rulers and protest leaders signed a constitutional declaration that paves the way for a promised transition to civilian rule following more than seven months of often deadly street rallies.
The agreement has foiled the Muslim Brotherhood’s evil plots, and may eradicate the Islamist political trends in Sudan.
Mohamed Hassan Labat, the African Union envoy to Sudan, said that the Transitional Military Council (TMC) and the Forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change (FDF) agreed on a constitutional declaration paving the way for a transitional government.
The agreement will pave the way for a military-civil council to create a transitional administration ruling Sudan for 39 months. That has been one of the main demands of the Sudanese protesters.
The Sudanese people rejoiced after the announcement as hundreds in Khartoum took to the streets in to celebrate as the agreement marks the beginning of a new era of Sudan’s history.
Meanwhile, Saudi political analyst Fahd Debaji said that the Muslim Brotherhood organization “is trying to fuel the situation in Sudan to realize two objectives: (1) It wants to allow its members escape trials, and (2) to foil any political settlement, especially after the Brotherhood has become abandoned by the Sudanese people.
“The agreement will mark the end of the Brotherhood’s plot in Sudan,” Debaji told THE REFERENCE, stressing the need to form a cabinet.
“The Brotherhood wants to disrupt reconciliation, which will usher in democracy, justice and equality in Sudan,” he said, citing the Turkish and Qatari endeavors to promote chaos.
Sudan has been in turmoil since the army ousted Omar al-Bashir on April 11 due to popular protests triggered by deteriorating economic conditions.
