Al-Islah party, the Brotherhood in Yemen, extended its weight in the battle that erupted in Shabwa with military support from the province of Marib, considering it a fateful confrontation against the Southern Transitional Council.
There were reports that the Muslim Brotherhood sent reinforcements from Marib to Shabwa, which suffers from a sharp polarization among its social components, because the Qatari money entered the line by financing the movements of Ahmed Musaed Hussein which is responsible for the worsening of the situation in Shabwa.
The tribes of the province of Marib and its sheikhs issued a statement on Thursday (August 29th), attacking the rush of the Islah Party to ignite other wars and throwing the sons of Marib and neighboring provinces with battles against southerners in Shabwa and Abyan governorates.
“We warned from the beginning and with messages sent by the tribes of Marib to the local authority in the province. All the tribes of Marib refused to fight in Shabwa and Abyan against our brothers with whom we are in one front to liberate the Yemeni provinces from the oppression and control of the Houthi militias, but no one listened to us.”
The tribes added that Al-Islah worked to entice their sons and sons of other provinces in the camps, and continued to incite them daily against their brothers in the south, while failing to confront the Houthi coup militias, stressing at the same time its refusal to use the Yemeni army to meet the wishes of partisan and self-wanting to divert the course of the Yemeni battle against the main enemy.
“The tribes of Marib hold the Islah Party and the legitimate government fully responsible for the lives of their children after the victims arrived in the hundreds during the last four days of fighting. They also call on their sons to return to their homes and protect Marib from any movement of the Iranian Houthi enemy.”
The tribes of Marib said that the real battle is against the Houthi militias and there is no point in creating any new battles in the south, calling for respect for the will of the people of the south, and understanding what they are demanding within the political dialogue called for by Saudi Arabia.
Muslim Brotherhood
Qatar continues to support the Muslim Brotherhood camps in Marib, which receive hundreds of their members, as well as non-Yemeni Muslim Brotherhood members, in order to form multiple militias to serve the Qatari-Turkish project in Yemen and the region.
Members of the Muslim Brotherhood in Marib are members of the Islah Party who have penetrated the army heavily, and are from the Ahmar, the most prominent of the Yemeni Muslim Brotherhood families, which have extensive ties with Qatar and Turkey.
The Brotherhood has a camp in Wadi Abu Jbara, which connects the governorates of Marib, al-Jawf and Sa’ada, and is considered one of the most prominent security corridors of the Brotherhood elements. It is under the direct supervision of Abdul Majeed al-Zindani, the most prominent Brotherhood leader in Yemen.
The Brotherhood leaders in Marib marginalized all non-reform military leaders, appointed instead of them Brotherhood members, and turned the elements of the National Army in the province into Brotherhood militias, primarily to serve the interests and issues of the party, ignoring the main enemy of the Houthi terrorist gang.
Marib has become a Muslim Brotherhood since the group took control of it in April 2012, and made it work with political, economic and military objectives belonging to the Brotherhood; due to its importance to the group as an oil province.
