Exposed by Saudi Arabia and hit by the UAE: Brotherhood plans and the interests of traitors agree to sell Yemen

The United Arab Emirates launched air strikes in the southern city of Aden against terrorist militias in defense of the Saudi-led coalition forces in response to increased terrorist attacks against coalition forces and civilians in Yemen.

In a statement, the UAE Foreign Ministry said that the raids carried out by UAE aircraft targeted armed groups led by elements belonging to terrorist organizations, after they carried out attacks on the coalition forces at Aden airport; wounding two members of the coalition forces.

International reaction

The statement stressed that the targeting operation was based on confirmed field intelligence, according to the targeting of militias to coalition forces.

The UAE statement triggered a wave of reactions at the international level; Saudi Arabia and the UAE issued a statement expressing their rejection and condemnation of the accusations and defamation campaigns targeting the UAE against the backdrop of these events, and called on both countries to remember the sacrifices made by the coalition forces on the territory of Yemen motivated by sincere brotherly ties.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE insisted on the need to continue all political, military, relief and development efforts, in partnership with the coalition countries that rose to support the Yemeni people.

The Pentagon announced its support for the air strikes, and declined to comment on the accusations by the Yemeni government against the UAE. A spokeswoman for the US Department of Defense explained that every country has the right to defend its interests

Demands of settlement

In a call from the UN Security Council to consider the legitimate demands of Yemenis for a political settlement by all parties, and welcoming efforts by Saudi Arabia in Jeddah to find a solution to the crisis between the parties to the conflict in southern Yemen, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khaled held a meeting during which Pompeo reaffirmed Washington’s full support for a negotiated solution between the Yemeni government and the transitional council.

In a statement, State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagos said both sides agreed that dialogue was the only way to reach a peaceful solution and survive in Yemen.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed a range of regional and bilateral issues, including the situation in the Gulf and maritime security, and reviewed the threat of Iran to destabilize the region.

They also discussed recent developments and events, in addition to emphasizing the joint cooperation between the two countries to confront extremism and terrorism, and the protection of international waters, and the role of coalition forces to support legitimacy in Yemen; to restore security and stability.
