Europe’s far-right parties united against refugees

Since its emergence in Europe, the far-right has succeeded in becoming a popular political current. It has occupied advanced positions in the elections of many European countries. Ten far-right parties are among the most popular in the continent.

Alternative for Germany

It is the enemy of the unified European currency, the Euro. The party calls for disbanding the Euro region. It advocates the return of national currencies.

Since 2016, the Alternative for Germany Party has won seats in 13 out of Germany’s 16 representative councils. The party approves of immigration to Germany, only in the light of the needs of the country. It also calls for deporting illegal immigrants.

National Rally

The National Rally Party achieved its best election results in 2017 when Marine Le Pen reached the second stage of the presidential elections against Emmanuel Macron.

The party believes that Muslims cannot differentiate between extremism and piety. There are 5 million Muslims in France, according to a 2010 census.

Party for Freedom

This is the most outstanding right-wing party in the Netherlands. It is a nationalist party that opposes Islam and immigration. It reached power in 2006.

In 2017, the Party for Freedom became the second most popular party in the Netherlands. The party leader advocated a ban against the holy Quran and a tax on Muslim women who wear the Islamic gear.

Lega Nord

This is a new movement in Italy. In 2009, it succeeded in getting 10% of all votes in the European Parliament elections. It is now the fourth most popular party in Italy.

This movement adopts hostile policies to Muslims. Movement leader Matteo Salvini said in 2015 that he considered Muslims to be the most dangerous problem in Europe. He called for kicking Muslims who do not have legal status out of Europe.
