As the Libyan National Army (LNA) intensifies military operations against terrorist militias in Tripoli, the pro-Muslim Brotherhood Government of National Accord is seeking more support from Turkey to stop the military advance led by Marshal Khalifa Haftar.
Meanwhile, Libyan MP Saeed Amghib said on September 28 that the Muslim Brotherhood’s request from Turkey to interfere “is an explicit confession” that Ankara is their last resort.
The Libyan MP said Turkey is behind all of the suffering in Libya. He said the request would implicate the government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan for interfering in the domestic affairs of a sovereign state without consent of the international community.
Moreover, the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya is carrying on with its plots against state institutions, especially the Libyan National Army. The Brotherhood is seeking the help of Turkey to fight the Libyan army, which has been combatting terrorism in the war-torn country since 2014.
Amghib said the Muslim Brotherhood feels that LNA would defeat the militias on the back of the Libyan army’s recent series of victories.
LNA spokesman Ahmed al-Mesmari said on September 26 that 9,500 terrorists were in Libya since 2011. Al-Mesmari said these terrorists were later sent to Syria.
The LNA spokesman accused Erdogan of supporting armed militias in Tripoli and Misrata.
Researcher Mohamed al-Zaidy, an expert on Libyan affairs, said Libya has been suffering from a bloody conflict since 2014, noting that the Turkish regime has been providing the terrorist militias with money, arms and logistics.
Al-Zaidy told THE REFERENCE that Libya is witnessing a regional and an international war, citing that Turkey is seeking to force its Ottoman plots in Libya.
