Brotherhood media in Libya misleads and incites with Qatari funds and Turkish support

Media organizations affiliated with terrorist organizations in Libya continue to spread false news, in line with Turkish instructions and Qatari plans.

Rumors and incitement

In 2011, several Libyan satellite channels affiliated with the terrorist Brotherhood emerged with Qatari funding and Turkish support, including two channels in Libya that were classified as terrorist entities after their suspicious trends and objectives became known, as well as their involvement in providing media support to terrorist groups, inciting murder and fueling acts of violence in Libya.

Among the entities designated as terrorist is the Al-Saraya Media Center, a provocative and inflammatory media institution linked to the Qatari agenda to support terrorism in Libya. It is also one of the most prominent wings of the Shura Council of Benghazi Revolutionaries.

US newspaper exposes Turkey

Turkey is the official sponsor financing the Brotherhood’s media platforms in order to increase division, sedition and chaos, the Washington Examiner reported in January.

The newspaper added that the relationship between Turkish intelligence and terrorists in Libya is very close.

On the other hand, the Libyan Center for Press Freedom revealed in a report that Tanasuh TV topped the list of the most breached channels in covering armed conflicts for the benefit of terrorist groups, as well as being devoted to hate speech and incitement to violence and fighting.

Since 2011, the Brotherhood’s terrorist groups have been attempting to call on foreign forces to support them via media platforms while they retreat militarily before the Libyan National Army (LNA), most recently when the LNA liberated the oil crescent from armed militias last month, according to the report.

In this context, Major General Ahmed al-Mesmari revealed in a press conference that Ankara is not only supporting terrorism in Libya, but is also fueling the media, having become a media base that hosts a number of Libyan channels belonging to extremist elements and terrorist groups that are hostile to the state, steering chaos in Libya and sponsoring terrorism there.

Qatar as well

Meanwhile, Mohammed al-Zaidi, a researcher specializing in Libyan affairs, said that Qatar is the official sponsor of incitement and the spread of lies against the LNA through the Brotherhood’s media platforms in Libya.

Zaidi added that there is coordination between the Brotherhood and al-Qaeda to incite violence through Turkish-supported media platforms.
