The International Center for Strategic and Military Security Studies in Tunis published a new report titled “Arab Countries Between the Hammer of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Anvil of Al-Qaeda and ISIS”, which discusses the relationship between the two terrorist organizations and the Brotherhood and how the latter helped to develop and spread them, especially in Arab countries and Africa.
Most dangerous organization
According to the report, the global organization of the Muslim Brotherhood, which produced its terrorist wings from al-Qaeda to ISIS, is the largest and most dangerous international trans-border organization, especially as it works to change the orientation of young people from citizens who believe in the values of citizenship and humanity to becoming strangers to their homeland, belonging to an extremist group practicing Ideological violence and believing in the illusions promoted by the group.
The report stressed that the Brotherhood is the hammer of the Arab world, planting the seed of evil, violence and hatred of the other, as they believe that anyone different is an enemy that must be fought and killed if necessary.
All studies have shown that the most intense terrorist and extremist leaders belonged to the Brotherhood, and in the second and third rows of political leaders, the report stated, stressing that the ideological violence practiced by the group produced the Arab-Afghan fighters, al-Qaeda and ISIS, and it is still producing different factions of terrorist groups.
The report pointed out that the Brotherhood came to power through its arms in Arab countries, enabling it to sabotage what it can in a systematic way and sow discord. The group cooperates with the largest global mafia in the drug and arms trade, as well as transfers young people to hotbeds of tension. It has become the hammer that strikes all Arab countries.
The International Center for Strategic and Military Security Studies stressed that the terrorist groups, and behind them the Brotherhood, failed to gain power but were able to destroy the homelands, pointing out that the crisis in Syria may be prolonged.
In its report, the center noted that Tunisia, Libya and Egypt are the biggest evidence of the Brotherhood’s internal sabotage, pitting and dividing society and sowing discord and seeds of hatred.
Cooperation between the Brotherhood and terrorist organizations
The report pointed out that al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri announced earlier that Jabhat al-Nusra, which was previously classified as an extension of the Brotherhood and is an extension of al-Qaeda, is considered one of the strongest opposition groups engaged in military conflict against the Syrian government and receives support from the Brotherhood.
Cooperation between the Brotherhood’s political wing in Libya, armed militias and al-Qaeda pockets became clear after the Libyan National Army (LNA) decided to directly confront them in order to liberate Tripoli and Libya, the report stated, stressing that the Brotherhood’s hammer is trying to withstand and postpone the collapse, invoking the anvils of ISIS and al-Qaeda in harmony in order to survive and impose instability and destruction.
The center stressed in the report that the Brotherhood’s penetration in North Africa, especially the countries of the Sahel and Sahara, caused an increase in terrorist attacks, noting that Algeria was among the most targeted countries, especially its border region.
The report also pointed to the role of Turkey in dealing with the Arab revolutions, especially in Syria and Iraq, stressing that it helped ISIS elements arrive to those countries. It added that the successful and effective confrontation against the organization and terrorism must be based on a real international alliance, especially between the countries that represent major regional powers such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco and Jordan, along with Syria and Iraq in the future, as they represent important ground against international forces of terrorism.
It has been shown through comparative studies between the cases of al-Qaeda and ISIS that there is a major shift, especially since the latter has become the strongest and most influential organization in the Arab region, the report said, pointing out that there are many factors that led to it being stationed in northeastern Syria and northwestern Iraq, mainly the absence of the state or weakness in its centralization. In addition, these areas are experiencing a historical conflict between religious communities and ethnic groups.
