European states underestimated the presence of the Muslim Brotherhood ideology in them as a security threat.
In the last 30 years, important publishing companies published the works of outstanding Muslim Brotherhood members. They distributed these books to mosques and libraries affiliated to the totalitarian group.
The mosques distribute these books to the people who frequent them.
The publishing company, Dar al-Tawihid, is the historical publisher of the Muslim Brotherhood in France. The Islamic Youth Association founded the company in 1990. The company did a lot to promote the thinking of the grandsons of Hassan al-Bana, Tariq and Hany. In one of his books, Hany says that struggling for the construction of the Islamic State is an obligation for every Muslim.
“The Islamic world boils,” Hany says in his book. “This force needs to be directed on the road of constructing the Islamic State, a state that applies the rules of al-Quran and the sayings of Prophet Muhammad. Muslims will not find their lost happiness if they do not move on the road of jihad and do not work for the establishment of an Islamic state.”
This book is sold at the grand mosque in Créteil in the southeastern suburbs of Paris. The mosque has a dome and a minaret. More than 1,000 Muslims visit the mosque on Fridays. The chief of the Île-de-France region attended the inauguration of this mosque in 2004. The municipality of the region contributed to the construction of the mosque by selling the land for its builders for a symbolic price: one euro.
The mosque issues a monthly magazine, called “The Cave”. The magazine praises Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawi and Sayed Qotb. In the December 2015 issue, the magazine describes Qotb as a “famous scholar”.
Al-Buraq is the other important publishing company that publishes the books of the members of the Muslim Brotherhood. The company has published a long list of books as well as a series of radical articles.
The book, “Muslim’s Route” is the most popular among Muslims. Its author, Abu Bakr al-Jaza’iri, is viewed with high esteem among the members of the Muslim Brotherhood. He is considered an important term of reference for mosque preachers in France.
The book is full of extremism. It encourages Muslims to launch holy war, at least once a year. The book also bans the construction or restoration of churches.
The Paris-based al-Nour publishing house was constructed in 1984. The house published books by Moncef al-Zanati, one of the leaders of the Association of Islamic Organizations in France. It also published the books of other Islamist leaders, including Mohamed al-Ghazali, who called for murdering the late secular Egyptian thinker Farag Fouda in 1992.
Al-Nour Publishing House also published several books by al-Qaradawi. The books are sold at the mosques of the Muslim Brotherhood in France. One of the books, “Science of Priorities”, calls for killing for the sake of God. It also calls for the use of arms for changing societies.
Sorry to say, the failure of French authorities to tighten control on these publishing companies will open the door for the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood to gain more ground in France very day.
