The Houthi militias are perpetrating terrorist operations to tighten their grip on the Yemeni institutions. On Dec. 18, the Houthi militias attacked clothes stores and burned the clothes of youth, especially women’s garments on “indecency” allegations.
The Yemeni people decried the Houthi actions, describing the Iranian-backed Houthis as terrorists following the footsteps of ISIS.
Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said in a speech addressing Yemeni ulema at the Great Mosque in Sanaa that these clothes had been burned as they were immoral.
Activists posted videos on Twitter showing the Houthis setting fire to women’s clothes, warning Yemenis of wearing such immoral garments. The activists said the Houthi militias attacked 400 clothes stores in Sanaa.
In 2014, ISIS enforced a special uniform for women when the terrorist organization controlled Mosul.
Rights Radar for Human Rights said more than 35 girls in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, which has been under the control of the Houthi militias.
Rights Radar added that the phenomenon of kidnapping girls, students and women in Sanaa and the areas controlled by the Houthis, has escalated in an unprecedented way.
