Algeria’s Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum has affirmed his country’s rejection to the presence of any foreign forces from any country in Libya, shortly after the Turkish parliament on Thursday approved sending troops to the war-torn country.
Boukadoum told reporters late on Thursday that within the next few days Algeria will introduce initiatives to help achieve a political solution in Libya.
The minister said he thought the use of force was not the right decision, adding that the parties in Libya should consult with the help of all citizens and neighbouring countries, especially Algeria.
He further affirmed Algeria’s clear stand on foreign interference in the affairs of other countries.
A statement by the Algerian Foriegn Ministry last October expressed rejection to the Turkish military operation in northern Syria and reaffirmed its full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.
