Let’s get oil out of the wells controlled by terrorists in Syria, finalize the construction of housing units, schools and hospitals in the areas liberated from the terrorists, and then allow the refugees to live in these areas.
This is how Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, unveiled his plans for the safe zone in Syria.
Erdogan asked international powers to get the oil out of the wells in northern Syria and then spend revenues from the sale of this oil on the Syrian refugees who will be relocated to these areas.
The Turkish president said this at the Global Refugee Forum in Geneva.
The clear thing is that the Turkish leader wants to solve the economic problems that beset his country by usurping the wealth of other peoples. He wants to steal Libya’s oil and also explore natural gas in the Eastern Mediterranean through Libya.
War crimes
Turkish troops commit horrendous crimes against locals in northern Syria, even as Erdogan claims to be establishing a safe zone in the area.
This is why some international rights groups have called for launching an inquiry into Turkish possible Turkish war crimes in northern Syria.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said, meanwhile, that Turkey executes locals in northern Syria, steals properties in the area and prevents residents from returning to their homes.
It added in a report that it has evidence that the safe zone Turkey wants to establish in northern Syria will be far from safe.
The office said statements by Erdogan about the zone are mere lies that reveal his plans for controlling Syrian oil and getting rid of the Kurds.
Ottoman dream
The establishment of the safe zone makes Turkey in control of the Syrian oil wells in the area. This will give the kiss of life to the Turkish economy.
Turkey is trying to do the same thing in Libya after it signed a deal with the so-called legitimate Government of National Accord which controls Tripoli.
By gaining presence in Libya, Turkey wants to steal the oil and the gas of the Arab state and also dominate Libya’s expected reconstruction.
Reconstruction projects in post-war Libya are estimated at $18 billion. Before the downfall of the Muammar Gaddafi regime, Turkey signed economic deals with the late Libyan ruler to the value of billions of dollars. This was why Turkey was reluctant to back the uprising against Gaddafi.
