Turkey and Qatar have been cooperating in interfering in a number of countries, which are going through conflicts, especially Libya and Sudan.
A Turkish newspaper revealed on Feb. 8 that a number of Turkish MPs, led by MP Ozgur Ozel, leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), opposed a Turkish factory manufacturing tanks for Qatar.
MP Ozel said the Turkish government had given a tank factory to Qatar for 25 years as it failed to provide the plant with 50 million liras for maintenance. The MPs stressed that the arms factory is owned by the Turkish people.
On Jan. 22, 2019, Swedish-based Nordic Monitor said that the Turkish president had rushed the parliament to approve a financial agreement with Qatar head of delivering arms produced by a company, which is run his partners and the Qatari army.
Libyan National Army sources said on May 18, 2019 that a Turkish arms shipment arrived in Tripoli coming from north Turkey, carried by vessel Amazon. The shipment contained Kirpi armored vehicles, manufactured by Turkey’s BMC, of which Qatar Investment Fund has 50% of its shares.
The Sudanese authorities seized on Jan. 21 a Qatari arms shipment in Darfur. It was revealed later that the shipment had been ordered by Turkey and sent to the Muslim Brotherhood militias in Tripoli.
