Libya’s military police detained an Egyptian national named Mohamed Sobhi, who is affiliated with ISIS, in Benghazi. Sobhi worked as an electrician in Cairo before joining ISIS, aka Daesh.
Sobhi traveled to Libya illegally to become a member of Ibrahim Ahnish militia, which is led by ISIS leader Mohamed Salem Bahroun, aka al-Far. The militia is affiliated with the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), led by Fayez al-Sarraj.
Security sources said Sobhi was arrested at a checkpoint on the road to the Musaid border crossing between Libya and Egypt. Sobhi was on his way from Benghazi to Cairo.
Sobhi confessed that al-Far had recruited hundreds of Chadian and Sudanese nationals as well as Boko Haram terrorists to fight against the Libyan National Army.
The Libyan media said Sobhi had confessed rape crimes he had raped Libyan women who were abducted and taken hostages.
Moreover, he confessed that Bahroun had kidnapped tens of Libyan women from al-Zawya City and raped them. Bahroun killed some of these abducted women along with their families.
Bahroun or al-Far
Mohamed Salem Bahroun was born on August 21, 1989. He lives in central al-Zawya City. He founded a prison for his hostages. The prison was used by ISIS members to rape girls.
Al-Far has a record of crimes, including rape, abduction, smuggling and recruitment of migrants.
On December 8, 2019, a Libyan fighter pilot appeared in a video on the social media detained by terrorists, including al-Far, from al-Zawya City.
