The Al-Murabitun organization, founded by the Egyptian terrorist named Hisham Ali Ashmawi Musaad Ibrahim known as Hisham Ashmawi, collapsed, after Colonel Tamer Al-Rifai, the military spokesman for the armed forces, announced the implementation of a ruling to execute Ashmawi on the morning of March 4, 2020.
This comes following the announcement by the Cairo Criminal Court held in Tora, Monday, 2 March 2020, of the hanging of the terrorist Ashmawi and 36 others, in the Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis case.
The Al-Qaeda terrorist organization was defeated after its founder was arrested in October 2018, and after the Egyptian army killed the majority of the leaders of the terrorist organization, or arrested those present in the Egyptian or Libyan prisons.
After 6 years of the existence of the dilapidated organization, it had one of the most prominent collapses, and the deterioration of its unity is the killing of Omar Rifai Sorour, nicknamed Abu Abdullah Al-Masri, the mufti of the organization.
Not to end terrorism
Colonel Arkan Harb, the military spokesman for the armed forces, announced on his official page on Facebook that this morning, Wednesday 4 March, the death sentence was carried out on terrorist Ashmawi, confirming that Ashmawi committed 14 terrorist crimes that led to his death sentence by hanging.
The military spokesman for the Egyptian Armed Forces confirmed that among the charges that linked Ashmawi to the road to the gallows were his involvement in monitoring and spying, laying out a plan to target and carry out the terrorist attack on the Farafra border guard point, killing all its officers and individuals and detonating weapons and ammunition on July 19, 2014, in addition to infiltration of Libyan territory after targeting a civilian police ambush in the area of Abu Sawyer in Ismailia, accompanied by some members of the organization.
Beginning of the End
The beginning of the collapse of the terrorist organization – the Murabtin – upon its founding in Libya started after the dissolution of the Rab’a sit-in and the rebellion of the terrorist group – in August 2013, by joining the so-called terrorist “Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis” terrorist organization.
It carried out several qualitative terrorist operations, such as the bombing of the headquarters of the Dakahlia Security Directorate in 2013, the Farafra ambush in 2014, the third Arish massacre, the assassination of former Attorney General Hisham Barakat, and other terrorist operations.
Ashmawi crimes in Egypt
The terrorist organization Al-Qaeda through “Ashmawi” was conscious of penetrating Egypt through several failed attempts.
The oldest of them was among the most prominent organizations that announced their affiliation with al-Qaeda and all their attempts failed, including what is known as the “jihad base in the land of Kinana” that was launched in 2006.
Murabitun’s collapse
The Murabitun organization received several defeats while its members were in Libya, especially its leaders, some of whom were killed and others were arrested, during a security operation carried out by the Libyan National Army inside the Maghar neighborhood in the city of Derna.
Ashmawi was arrested on October 8 2018 along with Mari Zoghbya, Bahaa Ali and the wife of Omar Rifai Sorour nicknamed Abu Abdullah Al-Masry, the mufti of the organization. The Libyan army handed him over to the Egyptian General Intelligence, on May 28, 2019, in preparation for his trial in the crimes attributed to him.
