The Sudanese people directed a wave of thanks and gratitude to the United Arab Emirates, to ensure the transfer of approximately 143 Sudanese students from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the focus of the Corona virus.
This comes in addition to appropriate health care and the gracious reception of students, in a prominent humanitarian position, confirming the UAE’s keenness in a way that is aimed to support all peoples without discrimination.
The beginning was from the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which expressed its appreciation and gratitude for the initiative of the United Arab Emirates and for hosting returning students during the quarantine period.
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the process of evacuating Sudanese students from Wuhan, China, to the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, had been completed.
It assured the relatives of the Sudanese students and people that the Sudanese students will return to their country, after serving a quarantine period in the United Arab Emirates.
The political parties also thanked the UAE for its gratitude. The Sudanese Nation Party thanked the UAE for its initiative to evacuate the Sudanese students stranded in the Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak of the coronavirus and hosted them throughout the quarantine period.
In a statement issued on March 5, 2020, the Nation Party thanked Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for their great efforts and careful follow-up of the conditions of their Sudanese brothers.
The party pointed out that “the sisterly Emirates have always stood with their brothers in Sudan in the most difficult circumstances, and extend a helping hand to them in all vital issues, without asking beyond that.”
He added, “This has been a matter of relations since the era of the first founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, striking at the highest ideals and values in sincere brotherhood.” He continued: “As we extend thanks to the sister Emirates, we confirm the strength of the relationship that binds the people of the two countries.”
The Umma Party pledged to remain a supporter to increase the strength and prevent the close association between the two brotherly peoples.
A wave of thanks is sweeping social media
Through the social networking site “Facebook”, the Sudanese people were keen on thanking and saluting the wise leadership in the United Arab Emirates, after evacuating the students from the focus of the disease, and to provide them with appropriate health care.
They also expressed their gratitude for the continuous financial and political support from the United Arab Emirates to Sudan in all its misfortunes.
The United Arab Emirates previously cooperated with Sudan in many crises, including the UAE Red Crescent support for the victims of Sudan’s flood in August 2019, with 100 tons of humanitarian aid, as well as providing various types of support, whether food, health, humanitarian or development for the people of Darfur during the civil war that lasted more than 21 years old,
