Peace Society Movement: prominent political arm of the Brotherhood in Algeria

The Peace Society Movement is the most prominent political arm of the Brotherhood in Algeria, and the second largest Islamic power in Algeria, which originated as a party in 1991, after the movement moved from the stage of clandestine work that began in 1963 and strengthened in the seventies, based on its reference to the approach of the global Muslim Brotherhood under The banner of the Association for Guidance and Reform, to the stage of public work in the mid-seventies with a clear and practical opposition to the government of Hawari Bou Medin in the name of the organization of the Almohad group, led by Mahfouz Nahnah who called for Islamic reform work, and avoided a clash with the authority trying to open the door for dialogue with it along with coordination with All Islamic forces and activities changed according to the 1996 constitution, and according to the law on political parties, the movement’s name changed to the Peace Society Movement (enthusiasm), and any singular reference to its Islamic reference was absent in its new political program project, which was submitted after the issuance of the law to compensate for the national principles as an intellectual reference for it .

The Peace Society Movement participated in the 1997 elections to stand out as an Islamic force to be reckoned under the dome of Parliament, winning 69 seats to occupy the second position before the National Liberation Front.

She describes herself as a comprehensive and reformist popular, whose motto is: science, justice and work. However, after the death of its founder, Sheikh Mahfouz Nahnah, and Sheikh Abi Jarrah Sultani assumed the event of rivalry and dissent.

Advocacy and change movement

A split occurred in the Muslim Brotherhood in Algeria, so that Sheikh Abdel Majid Al-Manasrah (who became the deputy head of the Dawa and Change Movement) – was removed from the movement and the fact that he and Sheikh Mustafa Belmahdi (the head of the movement) called the Dawa and Change Movement in April 2009.

The advocacy and change movement is the other wing of the Muslim Brotherhood in Algeria, and it extends across the various states of Algeria, and it has a Shura Council and bodies that sponsor major files for advocacy and education and the issues of the nation, chief among them the question of Palestine and organizational departments overseeing the daily work of various affairs of the organizational movement, educational, social, political and women, youth and universities issues And it has thousands of brothers, and Abdel-Majid Manasra is the most prominent leader of the movement, and the leader of the exit scenario against Abi Jarra Soltani, leader of “Hamas” of deviation, after he accused him of going out on the path of the founding sheikh of the Brotherhood in Algeria, Mahfouz Nahnah, to confirm For all the confidence in the support of the parent group in Egypt.
