Yemen’s Muslim Brothers rolling out the red carpet for Turkey

Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, tries to gain a foothold in Arab states, especially those suffering political or security unrest.

In doing this, he tries to achieve internal political gains at a time he is losing his popularity among Turkish citizens because of the mistakes of his government in the past years.

Erdogan’s newest adventure is taking place in Yemen where he wants to gain presence, getting support from Islah Party, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen.

Destructive plan

Erdogan is trying to use Islah in moving ahead with his interference in Yemeni affairs.

Islah works to destroy Yemen by controlling important institutions in it, according to Yemeni activists.

The party has recently pulled out its troops from the central province of Ma’rib and handed over its positions, liberated by Arab Coalition troops at the end of January, to the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

Qatari cooperation

Iran, Qatar, and Turkey are reportedly joining hands to sabotage the operations of the Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, in Yemen.

Saudi political analyst, Khaled al-Zaatar, said the three countries use Islah to carry out their plans in Yemen.

Qatar uses its media to propagate wrong information about what happens in the Yemeni port city of Aden, al-Zaatar wrote in an article.

He added that this wrong information aims at driving a wedge between the Arab Coalition, on one hand, and southern Yemenis, on the other.

Inside Yemen

The Yemeni military attaché in Turkey, Askar Zaalel, is reportedly playing a central role in helping Turkey gain a foothold in Yemen.

In January, Zaalel praised the Ottoman rule of his country in the period between 1583 and 1918.

This was a period of great urban development and renaissance, Zaalel said.

Meanwhile, there are reports about the presence of a Turkish officer in Yemeni capital Sana’a.

The officer, they said, is in the Yemeni capital under a humanitarian cloak.
