Nahla Abdel Moneim
Political research centers play an important role in rooting the agendas, as well as preparing for specific steps that ultimately lead to the capital of their owners, especially in light of the decisive positions of countries and the economic benefit they overflow, and in light of this, some studies institutions in Tunisia seek to promote Turkish policy towards Libya in a way that has a justified excuse for the situation in the region.
It is known that Turkey has an expansion project towards Libyan lands to ensure the development of its investments in the country as well as the struggle over Mediterranean gas and a number of strategic interests.
Strategic research centers
By reviewing a number of research centers in Tunisia and what they provide of a political article regarding the course of events in the region, we find that the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies issues several research papers to discuss Turkey’s interventions in the region, but it explains them with economic interests and investments, and also promotes their intervention in Libya as a protection for the government.
The Center claims that Turkey’s entry into Libya was aimed at controlling the turbulent security situation, assisting the head of the reconciliation government in Tripoli, Fayez al-Sarraj, in maintaining internal peace, and stopping the threats of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, leader of the Libyan National Army.
What urges the necessity of resolving crises internally, that is, no state interferes in the affairs of another country, as it explains the lack of cooperation between the Brotherhood side in Tunisia and Turkey by the absence of an announced agreement in this regard, condoning visits, meetings and frequent coordination.
Moreover, the Arab Center is part of the Qatar Institute of Graduate Studies, i.e. a branch of the Gulf Emirate Research System, and thus the capital controls what researchers say about Turkish intervention in Libya and its justification.
Anti-Egypt and the Emirates
As for the Center for Strategic and Diplomatic Studies, it deals with any country opposed to the international organization of the Brotherhood as an enemy; especially Egypt and the UAE, and adopts the same strategy in defending Turkey and its interference in the Libyan file.
The Center also promotes that the leader of the Libyan National Army, Field Marshal Haftar, is not seeking to calm the country’s conditions, in addition to claiming that Turkey is sending Sarraj what helps him maintain security with a clear disregard for the fact that these elements are armed terrorist militias, and that the United Nations issued a binding decision not to interfere in Libya’s affairs.
