The northern Mozambique region is witnessing increased activity by the terrorist organization ISIS, taking advantage of the organization’s state of revolt against the government and their people, and this region lives in a state of great anarchy with the absence of the security services.

The rebellion is considered a fertile environment for the growth of terrorist organizations and specifically ISIS which exploits these opportunities to prove its existence through more operations, according to the book “Administration of Monster” by the writer Abu Bakr Naji.

He stressed that the environment of the rebellion and chaos is an environment conducive to the growth and expansion of ISIS.

The province of Cabo Delgado, in which the Ansar al-Sunna group is active, is one of the most widespread areas of the insurgency, and that group, according to Foreign Policy magazine, has close ties to ISIS.

During the last period, most of its elements declared loyalty to ISIS and carried out many of the Operations in favor of regulation.

ISIS announced through one of its media platforms, on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, that it was able to control the town of Mudumbi in the region of Cabo Delgado in northern Mozambique.

Oil and sapphire

The northern Mozambique region is considered one of the most rich areas in oil fields, so it is coveted by terrorist organizations, specifically ISIS, which needs to establish itself again.

Capo is the largest economic region and center in Mozambique, where it has large oil and gas fields, and is managed by the American Anadarko company and the Italian Eni company which the terrorists see as a foreign interference in the right of their country.

ISIS took control of northern Mozambique
