Iran giving Ahwaz residents a hard time by committing environmental crimes

Iranian occupation forces keep committing violations against Arab residents in the occupied Ahwaz region, southwest of Iran.

Authorities in the Islamic Republic primarily target those demanding the liberation of the region. They keep stealing the resources of the region.

The Ahwaz region contains huge water resources, even as its Arab residents are deprived of this water. Iranian authorities control the rivers of the region for the benefit of Iranian nationals.

This gives Ahwaz farmers a very hard time and makes life in the region next to impossible. The region is also turning into the world’s most polluted.

Ahwaz residents are deprived of basic services and infrastructure. Iran aims to introduce demographic changes in the region in order to put an end to calls for its liberation from Iranian control.

Regime of killers

Most of Iran’s oil revenues come from Ahwaz which contains over 300 oil wells. Nevertheless, Ahwaz residents struggle to get their water needs. Iranian authorities had recently called an Ahwaz village after Qasem Soleimani, the number 1 enemy of the residents of Ahwaz for years.

Iran occupied Ahwaz in 1925 when the region had its own sovereignty and a legitimate ruler. It also enjoyed a huge natural wealth.

The Middle East’s first oil well was discovered in Ahwaz, according to Aref al-Kaabi, the head of the Executive Committee for Returning the Legitimacy of Ahwaz.

He said Ahwaz was about to be a member of the League of Nations at the time.

Over 80% of Iran’s revenues come from Ahwaz, al-Kaabi said.

He added that the region has oil, natural gas and water.

It also has ports and fertile land suitable for the cultivation of all types of crops, al-Kaabi said.
