Blog campaigning to kick Turkey out of Syria

Syrian activists have launched a new blog to campaign against Turkish presence in northern Syria.

Called the “Syrian Alliance for Expelling the Ottoman Invaders”, the new group aims to uncover the crimes committed by the Turkish militias in northern Syria.

The activists launching this new platform post videos on Twitter of violations committed by Turkish troops and militias backed by Turkey in areas like Idlib, Afrin, Tell Abiad and Ras al-Ain.

They tell of the kidnap of minor girls in Afrin by factions backed by Turkey. The activists say kidnap operations in the city take place under the watch of the Turkish intelligence.

They add that the same factions force the residents of the city to leave so that the families of Turkey-backed militants can take their homes and live in them.

They note that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan encourages his troops and the factions backed by his country in northern Syria to move ahead with their violations against the residents of the region.

Erdoğan, they said, gives direct orders for the eviction of the residents of Idlib and Aleppo.

Hundreds of thousands of Syrians are now displaced at the orders of the Turkish president, the activists said.

The “Syrian Alliance for Expelling the Ottoman Invaders” page runs videos of violations by the Turkish troops, including the forced eviction of Syrian families from their homes.

On July 7, the page ran news of a major protest in Athens, Greece, during which the demonstrators called for kicking Turkey out of Syria.

According to Syrian political activist, Ryan Maarouf, a large number of Syrians contribute to the page, both from inside and outside Syria.

These people have hopes that this page can change realities on the ground by expelling Erdoğan’s mercenaries, Maarouf told The Reference.
