Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid has recently revealed the presence of close links between his organization and the Qatari news channel al-Jazeera and the Qatari regime.
This regime offers support to the Afghan group through its office in Qatari capital Doha.
The Qatari regime supports militant groups around the world and works to spread unrest in Arab and Islamic states.
The Qatari capital also plays host to an amalgam of terrorist leaderships, including this of the Afghan Taliban which negotiates with the United States now.
The group harbors close links with the Qatari regime and al-Jazeera.
These links were revealed recently by a number of developments, including by Mujahid who mourned the death of the al-Jazeera correspondent in the eastern Afghan province of Ghazni.
Rahmatullah Nekzad
Mujahid mourned on December 21 Rahmatullah Nekzad, the correspondent of al-Jazeera in Ghazni.
He wrote on Twitter that his organization was shocked at the killing of the correspondent in the eastern Afghan province.
He added that the Taliban condemned the killing of the journalist strongly.
Mujahid also revealed that Nekzad used to have close links with the Taliban.
There were no details about how Nekzad was killed.
Old relationship
Doha hosts a large number of terror leaders, both openly and secretly. These leaders included Ayman al-Zawahiri who died in Doha a few weeks ago.
Doha also hosts the leaders of the Afghan Taliban which has opened an office in the Qatari capital.
