The new administration in the United States works to address the growing issue of extremism through a series of security and social programs.
It also tries to do this by addressing legal problems, a process that will allow the US government to deal with this issue within the framework of law.
Efforts in this regard are coming in the wake of the Capitol Hill attacks that happened late last year.
On May 11, the Department of Homeland Security launched a new section to deal with terrorism issues across the US. The new section aims to help American authorities tackle violence carried out by extremist movements.
The new section, the department said, is part of a new strategy aiming at putting a lid on far-right violence.
The formation of the new section comes hard on the heels of a new report by the Federal Bureau of Investigations that warns against the rising threat posed by the far right in the US.
Soon after taking the reins of power in his country, US President Joe Biden asked the bureau to assess the activities of the far right and its ability to form militias, according to The New York Times.
United States Attorney General Merrick Garland is expected to defend the new strategy before Congress in mid-May.
Garland had previously requested an increase in the budget of the US Department of Justice so that it can face the growing threat of far right networks.
