Militia dead and wounded: Joint forces trim Houthis’ claws on several fronts

The joint forces thwarted simultaneous attempts by the Houthis on the evening of Monday, June 21, forcing the terrorist militia to rearrange its defenses on two fronts in the city of Hodeidah, western Yemen, and to incur human and material losses.

A military source in the joint forces said that the Iranian-backed militia tried to create fortifications with earth mounds and to plant new mine networks on the front at Kilo 16 and the front adjacent to it, specifically near the College of Engineering located on the front line in the city of al-Saleh, which soon was successfully dealt with.

He stressed that the units stationed from the joint forces on the two fronts began to bombard a center, causing deaths and injuries in the Houthi ranks and forcing the rest to flee.

The sources of machine-gun and sniper fire were also suppressed, as the militia tried to assign its members the task of creating fortifications and focusing on them.

In Al-Bayda, field sources reported that the joint forces in the governorate carried out a qualitative operation on Monday against the Houthis, which left dead and wounded.

The sources said that the forces stationed at the Hazmieh Front of the Soma district carried out a qualitative operation and a tight ambush in Aryab.

They pointed out that a Houthis were targeted, which resulted in the killing and wounding of many in its ranks.

On the other hand, seven Houthi unmanned aerial vehicles flew in separate areas of the Hays district of Hodeidah on Monday.

The joint forces monitored the Iranian-backed militia’s drone flights in the city, which were used to spy on sites and target civilians.

In Marib, the Houthi militia suffered heavy losses in confrontations with the legitimate government forces and in strikes by the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in the south and west of Marib Governorate, where government forces continue to confront the militia’s attempt to penetrate its defenses.

According to military sources in Marib, the government forces targeted groups of Houthis who were trying to infiltrate sites in Jabal Qareida and Hayd al-Ahmad in the Rahabah district in southern Marib.

On the Al-Kasara front, in the west of the governorate, the coalition fighters targeted militia sites and gatherings in separate locations on the front through several strikes, and the army forces lured a group of Houthi members in the northwestern outskirts of the governorate and surprised them with an attack that resulted in the destruction of vehicles belonging to the Houthis.

It is noteworthy that since February, the Houthi militia has been seeking to seize Marib, but it has made little progress and incurred heavy losses amid strong resistance from the Yemeni army.

The Houthi attacks with missiles and booby-trapped drones targeted civilian residential areas within the city itself. According to a spokesperson for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNCHR), the Houthis bombed a fuel station earlier this month, killing a total of 20 people, including children.
