Betrayal is far from foreign to the Muslim Brotherhood. This Islamist movement is addicted to conspiring against the countries where it operates. It considers homelands a mere ‘handful of rotten dirt’. This was principal to the thinking of Brotherhood theorist, Sayyid Qutb.
The Ennahda Movement, the branch of the Brotherhood in Tunisia, follows in the footsteps of its sister organization in Egypt.
It has signed contracts with international public relations companies to improve its image and spread lies about its critics.
It pays millions of dollars to do this. Nevertheless, this is the money of the Tunisian people who live in extreme poverty due to the policies of the Islamist movement.
Reeling under the July 25 decisions of Tunisian President, Kais Saied, Ennahda signed a contract with the international communications agency, Pearson Cohn & Wolfe, through a London-based institution called ‘Ennahda Party Diaspora Group’.
In the light of the contract, the agency will help Ennahda gain access to key players in the United States and US media. The agency will offer support and strategic communication advice to Ennahda.
The contract, the details of which were exposed by the US Department of Justice, opens the door for pressure on the Tunisian president to reverse his recent decisions.
The agency will do this by distorting the course of events in Tunisia, promoting Ennahda’s alleged version of a ‘coup’ happening in Tunisia, and explaining the movement’s position to the administration of US President Joe Biden.
The agency will also try to reach out to Congress, the media and American think tanks.
These moves will aim at piling up foreign pressure that serves Ennahda.
