Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian’s latest visit to Lebanon included a tour along Lebanon’s border with Israel.
In the border area, the Iranian foreign minister said the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance is at its best, while Israel is at its worst.
“It suffers from accumulated political, social and security crises,” he said of Israel.
Amir-Abdollahian noted that positive developments in the region would lead to the isolation and collapse of Israel.
He reiterated Iran’s firm position in supporting the Lebanese resistance.
Iran, he said, was a friend of Lebanon at its difficult times and would remain by its side in prosperity as well.
He pointed out that the Lebanese resistance proved that Israel understands only the language of force.
“The Iranian political solution lies in holding a democratic referendum among all Palestinians, including all the population of various Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities,” the Iranian foreign minister said.
Regional role
Iranian affairs specialist, Masoud Ibrahim, said the visit of the Iranian foreign minister to Lebanon is undoubtedly the embodiment of the regional role that Tehran seeks to play, especially after the Saudi-Iranian agreement.
“The visit took place after a tour by Amir-Abdollahian that included Russia, then Syria and ended with Lebanon,” Ibrahim told The Reference.
He added that all these countries have their own crises.
Ibrahim noted that Iran has a knack for dealing with regional states, especially at times of crises.
The region, he said, boils with problems and Iran is good at forming alliances and benefiting from these problems.
New assignments
Ibrahim pointed out that Amir-Abdollahian’s meeting with Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement and Iran’s most important arm in the region, was for consultation.
“The Iranian foreign minister must have given new assignments Nasrallah,” Ibhraim said.
He added that these assignments must have been related to Iran’s security situation.
“Amir-Abdollahian’s visit to Lebanon’s border with Israel aimed to send a message to Israel and the countries of the region that Iran will not take its hand off the resistance,” Ibrahim said.
