Muslim Brotherhood creates a breeding ground for terrorism in Europe

Security, intelligence and academic reports on Muslim Brotherhood (MB) are ceaseless, particularly those handling its responsibility for terrorism industry, propagation and support all over the globe.

One of these recent studies was prepared by Prof. Lorenzo Vidino, specialist of counter-terrorism studies in G. Washington University in US. The study is on the Brotherhood’s activity in Austria. It was assigned to Vidino by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Intelligence. Vidino concluded in such a study that the Brotherhood did and still does found a fertile setting for extremism in Austria and Western societies in general.

Vidino in this study, which was undertaken mutually by Vienna University in Austria and G. Washington University in US, said that the Brotherhood intentionally overstated the anti-Muslim incidents and cemented the intellectual siege inside Islamic communities by repeating that Western governments and societies antagonize Muslims and Islam in general. Also, the Brotherhood legitimizes violence in the cases where it claims that Muslims are under threat.

The Italian, and US nationalized, researcher clarified that the leaderships and branches of the Brotherhood in Austria and around the world collected money for Hamas movement. They also tended to spread the victimization address, mixed with violence justification. Vidino regards this as disturbing, according to the increasing extremist trend in Europe during the last five years.

Dr. Vidino points out in his study, which he unveiled in a press conference in the Austrian capital “Vienna”, that the Brotherhood address is heterogeneous and opposing, in terms of tendency of spokespersons of the Brotherhood in Europe towards adopting a non-controversial holistic address, while the Middle Eastern representatives condemn Western societies and describe them as corrupt, morally unstable and unjust, and even more, as inferior to Muslim communities.

The situations of the Brotherhood towards religious freedom, woman rights and other issues, the researcher adds, collide with the European and Western values.

The study that comes in more than 60 pages points to the extreme discrepancies in the understanding of politicians and government representatives in Austria. While there are voices that slam the Brotherhood in media, and among political and academic elite, in addition that the Austrian security bodies openly described the Brotherhood as a threat to the social fabric of Austrian society, there are organizations and persons, close to the Brotherhood, dependent on their sponsors network inside the Austrian political and media spectrums. Also, the scientific analysis of the study shows the interference and intersection of organizational, personal, financial and intellectual connections between members and organizations of the Brotherhood in Austria, and many of them work under several names that do not bear that of the Brotherhood and do not follow its organizational structures.

The study published extracts from documents of Austrian intelligence that were released for the first time, according to the study. These documents tell that the Brotherhood does not maintain records for its members who secretly work in all countries to be protected from surveillance and prosecution by security authorities. Though, there are no strict rules inside the Brotherhood that determine the dos and don’ts. And as long as promises of loyalty are taken, all the instructions issued by the Brotherhood leadership must be adhered to.

The document goes on to say that the political system of the Brotherhood is authoritarian and disallows sovereignty or principles of freedom and equality for the people. These basic attitudes of the Brotherhood contradict with the social patterns and legal system of Austria.

Also, the document tells that a group, affiliated to the Brotherhood in Austria, authorizes dissemination of its ideology, which is essentially against the understanding of Western democracy of co-existence, equality, political system and core principles of the Republic of Austria.
