Egypt and Switzerland signed a joint agreement to promote the strategic cooperation for the years 2017-2020 worth 86 million Swiss francs.
The agreement was signed by Sahar Nasr, the Egyptian minister of Investment and International Cooperation, and the Swiss Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Mary Gabriel Annia Fleisch.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, the Egyptian minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Sahar Nasr, said that Egypt and Switzerland seek to promote the cooperation and the investment between the two countries.
The Egyptian Minister pointed out the projects that have already been implemented by the two countries, in addition to existing projects, such as: the hazardous waste management project for the hospitals implemented in Dakahlia Governorate with 9.2 million Swiss francs, the electronic waste management project of 1.17 million Swiss francs, and another projects.
Sahar Nasr commended the Egyptian and Swiss relations that have positively developed in political, economic, cultural and scientific fields.
Mary Gabriel Annia Fleisch stressed that Switzerland seeks to improve the economic condition in Egypt.
The Swiss Minister pointed out that the Swiss funding in Egypt serves millions of citizens.
Mary stated that Switzerland has developed the National Blood Transfusion Center that services half a million citizens and has funded infrastructure projects in Egypt, confirming Switzerland’s desire to continue cooperation through the new strategy.
