Education experts and representatives of universities in Arab countries held a meeting on Tuesday to prepare for the 16th conference of Arab ministers of education and scientific research, due to open on Wednesday.
The conference will be held under the auspices of Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit under the rubric “Higher education and the labor and production world: new vision”.
It is organized by the League in cooperation with the AL Educational Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the Arab Labor Organization (ALO).
Delegations from 17 Arab countries and a number of Arab and international organizations will participate.
The experts discussed the agendas presented by ALECSO and ALO on plans related to the relation between higher education institutions and the labor and production institutions in the Arab world to achieve sustainable development until 2030.
The meeting also tackled national reports presented on linking higher education with the development process requirements.
The participants asserted the importance of dealing with complex crises faced by the Arab countries.
They asserted the importance of setting a vision for the post-crises stages, reiterating the importance of rallying efforts to improve the quality of higher education. (MENA)
